It is a community mountain area that serves the villages of Souto and Outeiro, which was seriously affected by rural fires. It is currently occupied by bushes and a large part of the area is grazed in extensive production by the Sociedade Agropecuária do Casal da Bouça and other local producers. At the top of the mountain, this region has several groves of oaks and other hardwoods, especially along the water lines. In the valley zone there is an area with several plots of permanent pasture, known as marshes. This natural mountain area presents good possibilities to be explored taking into account the forestry and hunting, being alternatives that constitute the best form of multiple use of this space.

Description

 
The geographical area is covered by the Alvão Natural Park, considered the ex-libris of the region. This area has a high landscape, fauna and flora value, and the wasteland is managed by the population of the villages of Lamas de Olo and Dornelas. Framed in the mountain landscape, in this wasteland area it is possible to find some old mills and granaries, where the river Olo is the dominant watercourse, which culminates in the famous waterfall of Fisgas de Ermelo.

Description

 
It is a mountain community area that serves the villages of Lamas, Alvadia and Favaios, whose main activity is agriculture and pastoralism. It is an area of ​​excellence for breeding the Maronesa breed. The region is made up of an extensive network of permanent pastures, such as marshes that guarantee grazing for animals during the winter period and natural areas of herbs and shrubs along the slopes of the Alvão mountain range, in the common areas of the parish. The extensive livestock regime characteristic of this region allows the animals to roam the mountains during the spring/summer seasons and in periods of more rigorous weather, autumn/winter, with intense cold and snow, the animals are closer to the sheltered areas, in the close to the mudflats. The weeds removed from the commons are used to be spread in the stables, serving as bedding for the animals, which contributes to an effective management of the vegetation cover.

Description

 
It is a communal mountain area located at the eastern end of the municipality of Mondim de Basto, on the left bank of the River Cabril. Part of the common area is part of the Alvão Natural Park and is made up of an extensive forest area intrinsically associated with silvopastoring, a traditional activity in the region. The areas surrounding the villages have a vast network of permanent pastures that support animal exploitation throughout the year.
